AA members and medication

I've been in AA for nearly twenty years and it has taken me that long to acquire almost four years of continuous sobriety. I'm one of those members who has had a chronic record of relapse. I blamed myself for this failure, with the excuse that I must be one of those who is "constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves." Well, I turned out to be one of those "who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders." I did a lot of research to find that out! I had to hit a bottom that would leave me stinging badly enough to completely surrender. When this finally happened I was, by grace, put in touch with some professionals who diagnosed my chronic depression. My depression had probably taken root long before I had my first drink. It had been keeping me drunk.
