When I went to my first AA meeting, I was in prison. I didn't think I was an alcoholic at all, but I went for the smokes. When the outsider group came in, we started to laugh at them. I didn't believe they were sober. A lady got up and walked down to stop in front of me and my friend. She said, "We got a few funny guys here who think what we have to say is funny." When she did this to me, I felt embarrassed and I put my head down. I couldn't look at her at all.
