No Matter How Far Away a Meeting May Be, It's Always Somebody's Home Group

KENYA

In the spring of 1980 I was two years sober and a member of the U.S. Navy when my ship pulled into the African port of Mombasa, Kenya. We'd last been in port nearly two months before, in Singapore. In the meantime, our ship had participated in the failed attempt to rescue the hostages taken from the U.S. Embassy in Teheran, Iran.
