Right Where I Need to Be

In some parts of the country, AA groups hold a "birthday night" once a month to recognize all the members who are celebrating another year of sobriety during that month. In other places, I've attended meetings where an AA anniversary is announced quickly and without fanfare, after which the meeting goes on with no further mention of the milestone. Celebrants in some places attend as many meetings as possible during their week, taking a cake at each one.
