The relief of letting go

When I was a kid, my father often took my brother and me on fishing trips to local lakes. I remember one particular trip to a lake in Southern California when I was about eight or nine years old. My father told us that this lake was extremely deep, so deep in fact that some people believed it had no bottom. My brother and I were quite adventurous, and we decided that my father might be trying to fool us about the actual depth of this lake. So we devised a plan to go to the bottom.
