Love and service at work

While on my way to North Carolina, I stopped off in Hazeldon, Pennsylvania to rest overnight and went to an AA meeting. It was a big meeting and three young fellows in succession talked about drugs exclusively. An old-timer finally stood up and said, "This is an AA meeting. It's not about cocaine, pot, or Valium--it's about alcohol. Our Preamble states that 'Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.' That's the way it should be." Happily, the meeting went right back to our singleness of purpose. I feel that's the way all AA meetings should be.
