Friendship Earned

He showed up at the noon meeting, again and again. Drunk, he'd sit quietly by himself, wouldn't talk much, and didn't hang out after the meetings. I looked for something we might have in common. After many short talks, I found we shared interests in the outdoors: hunting, fishing, gold prospecting.
