A beacon of light

I wish to express appreciation for those Loners all over the world who have made the effort to register with GSO and keep their addresses and phone numbers current. They are like beacons of light in the wilderness in those areas where AA has hardly penetrated, such as the People's Republic of China. I would never have found the only group here in Guangzhou (Canton) had it not been for a registered Loner. Although I am only here temporarily, I consider myself very fortunate to have found the group. The two meetings a week, currently comprised of westerners only, are very small. There are usually only four or five people there, which is a small number indeed considering the immediate area has about seven million people. I'm sure there are other groups around the world which were started by contacts with Loners. While the number of such groups is probably small, their stature is very large to those of us who left our regular groups and meetings behind.
