Relocating Recovery

I came to my first AA meeting in 1975 because I wanted to dry out for a few days. My daily drinking usually began in the morning and proceeded until I blacked out, passed out, or ran out. My marriage, which was built on the mutual enjoyment of chasing bright lights, music, and mind-altering substances, was mostly intact. Food, clothing and shelter were available, although I'd lost my job.
