I Heard It Through the Grapevine

Last year, I wrote an article on Tradition One which was published in the January 1996 issue of the Grapevine. One reader, a man named Bud, from Austin, Texas, had lived in my home town, having lived there many years before, and he wrote the Grapevine asking them to send me his name and address so we could correspond. I immediately got in touch with Bud. We found we had many things in common and began sharing our AA lives with each other, the Grapevine being the vehicle that made it all possible--that transmission line from one drunk to another: the language of the heart.
