Light of the Spirit

I remember the first time I ever got to feel the effects of alcohol, I was eight or nine years old. Mom and Dad had happy-hour poker parties every weekend. There was always a keg of beer in the extra refrigerator and somehow or other I always got chosen to be the designated barmaid. When my parents' glasses were empty, they asked me to refill them. I was curious about what this beer stuff tasted like, so I took a few drinks. At first I didn't like it much, but when I got that warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy, I was on my way.
