Problems of My Own Making
When I first got sober, staying so was relatively easy. For the first couple of years, my days were very regimented. At four A.M. my alarm went off, I lit a cigarette, and called my sponsor. We helped each other wake up for the next half hour, and then I read my meditation books. I didn't particularly care for what these books had to say but I kept reading them because it was suggested. After the daily readings, I got on my knees and asked for help (another suggestion). By five I was busy preparing for work, and by five-thirty I was well on my way to work.
