Suffering from untreated alcoholism
I will never forget July 21, 1991. At almost nine years of sobriety I'd lost everything again; I hadn't taken a drink, but I was being locked up in a nuthouse. As they locked the door and left me, I said, "God, please help me." I wanted to die from the pain. How could this happen to me after being sober this long?
