Many thanks for the special section on "My Worst Day Sober" in the February Grapevine. Having just survived my own year from hell (by far the greatest "growth opportunity" of my thirteen sober years), this section was especially relevant. My year included a romantic breakup, serious health problems including chronic pain, a failing business (which had been founded by my beloved grandfather), and a six-month depression during which suicide often looked like a step up. But, reading the Grapevine, I was humbled by the "growth opportunities" survived by some of my fellow brother and sister AAs.
