In July, after celebrating my fourteenth year in Alcoholics Anonymous, something began to happen to the quality of my sobriety. I don't really know what happened; it just began going downhill. I became uncomfortable with my sponsor and rarely called her, gradually slacked off on attending meetings, and rarely raised my hand.
