The List

It was the night before my open-heart surgery, and I had almost four years of solid sobriety behind me. I had made most of my amends, but I realized there were a lot of people I needed to acknowledge just in case I didn't make it through the operation. I began a simple list of messages to past and present sponsors, and relatives and friends in and out of AA.
