It's Always Dark at the Beginning

We had a meeting on the topic of Higher Powers, and I didn't speak, but I kept thinking about it. I was frustrated that I hadn't been able to come up with anything at all to say about the most essential part of my AA program. And I wanted to tell newcomers who were skeptical of religion that this was something totally different, something they would come to love and rely on. I wanted to explain how it differs from the God-concept of the religion in which I was raised, and why it is so reassuring to me. But I couldn't figure it out myself.
