On November 14, 1996, I thought my life was over. I had just been charged with felony DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. Now six months later I have not had a drink, although I did slip and use drugs early on. While this can hardly be called anything remarkable, the fact that I'm sitting in my jail cell writing a letter is.
