Help!

At my very first AA meeting I heard two words that really scared me: "sobriety," which sounded so cold and antiseptic, and "God," which simply sounded unbelievable. During my drinking days, I'd become an orthodox evangelical atheist, which meant that if you had faith I tried to talk you out of it. So, assuming I could stop drinking--a definite long shot--how could I possibly acquire a "spiritual" program to help me stay sober?
