In "On the Green" (February 1998), I perceived the mantle of AA being subtly wrapped around the issue of smoking and health reform via comments about the author's "insane addiction" to cigarettes. I've heard many AAs talk about using our Twelve Steps to solve a variety of problems other than alcohol and while I applaud their successes, I take exception when they discuss such matters in AA meetings.
