Mother and child reunion

My name is Charlene; I'm a thirty-three-year-old single parent. After I sobered up long enough to see a little reality, I was overwhelmed with guilt and remorse for my behavior toward my seven-year-old son, Adam. One day I sat down with him and asked what I'd done to make him sad when I was drinking. He told me it had made him sad when I yelled at him and called him names, when I left him with strangers who treated him badly (while I was out drinking), and when I wouldn't listen or tried to deny the bad treatment.
