The Dirty Window

I am an alcoholic who is in recovery. These days, I make my living doing temporary office work while I attempt to get a freelance business off the ground. Some days are very discouraging. My temporary agency may send me out on an assignment that could win an award for the most boring job of the year. Sometimes I spend my time on such a job wishing that things were better, imagining how good life could be if only my ship would come in. In other words, I spend my time focusing on the negative and projecting into the future, fairly common alcoholic pastimes.
