Forgiveness Is a Gift

Both of my parents were alcoholics. My mother divorced and remarried another alcoholic when I was close to my tenth birthday. I was a pretty smart little ten-year-old. I kept up on all of the current events, watched the news, followed politics, and read the newspaper every morning. I was a bit precocious, bull-headed, and stubborn. (Some of my defects of character have since been tamed to become some of my best assets.)
