Questions to ponder

Taking inventory on my participation in my home group reveals assets and liabilities. I ponder these questions: 1) Am I attuned to the newcomer enough, or do I always make a beeline for friends? I pray to God I never become part of a clique. 2) What's my primary aim at a meeting--to get something out of it or to contribute to it? 3) Do I regularly stick around after a meeting to help with cleanup or does my desire to socialize too often mean I leave cleanup chores to others? 4) Do I greet a variety of folks at meetings or do I avoid people whose personalities clash with mine? Shame on me! 5) Do I take my turn sitting near the back of the hall or near the door to spot a hesitant newcomer who needs a reassuring welcome? 6) Do I have the guts to bring up at a business meeting one situation I don't like in my group--that certain members often isolate themselves in the kitchen before and after meetings? When a clique seems present, I think it is right to bring up the matter at a business meeting. 7) Do I always rush home after a meeting or do I sometimes join other members in the lighthearted banter at a nearby donut shop or restaurant?
