It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

Most of my life has been spent on the waters of various oceans. My father was a sea captain, and there were many sailors on my mother's side. Becoming a ship's captain was expected of me. The events I describe here took place in the spring of 1980. I was hired by a company in Anchorage, Alaska to run their large fishing vessel, the Carole Jeane. I arrived in Seward that spring to pick up the vessel.
