I knew that I had a slight drinking problem because I couldn't quit for more than a few days. I'd been in and out of blackouts for several months. I decided to go to an AA meeting and see how the alcoholics quit drinking. At meetings, I heard a lot about the Steps, but since I wasn't an alcoholic, I figured I didn't need to focus on them.
