Memories and Meeting Lists

It was October 24, 1996. I was twenty years old and sober a little over five months. I'd just spent a wonderful weekend with my girlfriend in New York and was on my way back to Greensboro, North Carolina where I was going to college at the time. There was a half-hour layover in Richmond, Virginia where I would change buses. When I got off the bus in Richmond I figured I had enough time to smoke a cigarette and call my girlfriend.
