I recently read this blazing headline on the cover of a news magazine: "What AA Won't Tell You." The featured story maintained that total abstinence was not the only avenue of recovery, that people could learn to drink in moderation--if they were heavy drinkers and not alcoholics. (I have to sheepishly admit that a "cure" for alcoholism always gets my full attention. It seems I'm still looking for a loophole.)
