Surviving Georges

It never fails to amaze me how AAs show up for meetings--through rain, hail, sleet, snow, or even hurricanes. A few days ago the Gulf Coast was hit by Hurricane Georges. Hurricane-force winds and torrential rainfall bombarded the coast for a couple of days. We attended a meeting on Saturday morning, and many of our members were on their way out of town, evacuating their homes before the storm. That night and the following day things got pretty rough: streets were flooded, trees and parts of trees came down, roofs were damaged, and the electrical power went out.
