I want to thank the author of "Resentments Under Construction" (October 1998). When I happened upon that article, I'd been confined to the house with a ruptured disk in my back for two weeks and self-pity had become my dearest friend. On that particular night, my husband had been away from home, with two of our dearest AA buddies, for fifteen hours. Even though I'd said that I wanted him to go and have a good time, and even though my mother and niece had spent several hours with me that day, helping me around the house and entertaining me, my resentment grew into "Hurricane Leigh Ann" by the time he got home that night. When he walked in the door, I was ready and waiting to let him have it with both barrels.
