Grow Up!

My sponsor, Bill, and I were driving south on California's old Interstate 5 in late February of 1970. The bright moonlight reflected on the surface of the mighty Pacific Ocean, and the two-lane highway was practically empty. We were returning from the legendary Laguna Beach Men's Stag meeting where Bill and I drove faithfully each Monday night. What a gathering of old-timers that meeting was. Thirty or so men, all with twenty years sobriety or more. These were the original pioneers of AA in Southern California, and they were tough men with AA dedication.
