The Long View

Our Thursday night "international" meeting perhaps needs a physical and geographical description more than most. We're the happy occupants of a suite in Grand Portage Lodge, on the Grand Portage Indian Reservation at the furthermost tip of the Minnesota Arrowhead Region, surrounded on one side by the largest freshwater lake in the world, and on the land side by the Grand Portage State Forest. Just six miles further in a northeasterly direction is one of the entry points connecting the United States and Canada--part of the longest undefended international border in the world.
