One Step Ahead of the Coroner

I had a drinking problem but said I could quit anytime I wanted. When there were social functions for my job, my wife said she didn't want to go because of my drinking. We would end up going and I would point out how others drank more than I did--but the drink got that job. I went on drinking up one job after another until I wanted to die. My choice of suicide means was to drink myself to death, and I tried, but God said not yet. I went on a month-long drunk, drinking until I passed out. I would come to, grab another bottle, and drink until I passed out again.
