What We Share

Early in my sobriety, I heard an old-timer talk about how the path had gotten narrower as he had stayed sober. At that point, everything was still new and confusing, but this statement was particularly mystifying. It just didn't seem fair somehow. At about this same time I got my one-year token. Several people said, "Okay, now the real work begins!" And they laughed. Yeah, real funny--like this first year was just a total breeze.
