Don't louse it up

Ritual has a distinctive place in some activities. It gives us a sense of continuity. We feel good when a certain activity happens the same way every time. In church we see the same actions, hear the same words, and feel that we are part of something that is larger than our own lives. In Alcoholics Anonymous we also want to feel that we are part of an activity that has been going on for a long time. All of this is good.
