Anonymity

Tradition Eleven: Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.

Some time ago, one of the volunteers in our central office hung a mirror on the wall, to which she attached a sticky note saying simply, "Are you an attraction?" This called to mind something I was told early in sobriety but haven't heard lately. An old-timer told me that before I became too proud to be a member of AA, I should be sure AA could always be proud to have me as a member.
