The newcomer

His goofy oversized baseball cap mostly hid his spiked green hair. His pants bagged down to his ankles. In his right ear he wore two gold rings; there was one in his left ear and one in his left eyebrow. If he had come to my door looking for a handout or selling vacuum cleaners or wanting to take my daughter on a date, I probably wouldn't have let him cross the threshold. But when he walked into our meeting room and said, "My name is Tom and I'm an alcoholic," he became a member of my family and I loved him.
