New Mexico on My Mind

I was born and raised in Hays, Kansas, and made my first call to AA for help when I was 15 years old. Although I had promised the kind man who spoke with me that I would attend a meeting the next day, I didn't make it to that first meeting until 7 years later in Billings, Montana. Seven years and numerous half-hearted attempts at sobriety after that, I ended up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, making a "justified" geographic.
