The Story of La Vina

The Twenty-Four Hour Group was the first place I went for help from a useless, helpless, and hopeless life. I later learned that this was powerlessness. The group met in a humble five-room house with a porch we called the "serenity porch." Everything in it was worn and old, except for the coffeepot--a restaurant-size, automatic-drip coffee maker. I remember being introduced to AA literature scattered around the house, along with a number of Grapevine magazines, but I never gave where they came from a thought.
