The Hand of AA

My friends tore the covers off my Big Book, and then, with razor blades, cut the pages out of what was left. They were laughing about it. That book had been bought especially for me--it was soft cover, large print. Everyone was nervous (and a little guilty) about destroying a Big Book. It felt strange to dismantle the same book which had put so many lives back together. And yet, it had to be done to carry the message to one more alcoholic. . .me.
