Editors' report on the Grapevine's 1999 Readership Survey

It is in the nature of magazines that they talk and their readers listen. The Grapevine, however, being primarily reader-written, is more interactive than most journals. Hundreds of manuscripts arrive in our office every month in which our readers talk about their alcoholism, sobriety, and the AA way of life. Yet relatively few write to tell us what they think of us. What do they like best about the magazine? Least? What changes, if any, would they like to see in the magazine? Do they believe they are getting good value for their money? What suggestions do they have for improving the magazine?
