A time and place for everything
Suppose you are applying for a job. You would go to the interview and say, "Hello, I'm George and I'm an excellent welder." If a friend has a tooth pulled and needs a ride home, you'd say, "Hi, I'm David's friend. I'm here to take him home." If your daughter got sick at school you'd greet the school nurse with "Hello, I'm Jenny's mother."
