You Can Always Tell Another Alcoholic. . .

I am a drunk and my name is Bill D. I left Knickerbocker Hospital's alcoholic ward on May 29, 1953. Thanks to the miracle of AA and the Higher Power, I have not had to take a drink of alcohol since that day. And that is the date I use for my sobriety date.
