A Trip to Atascadero

It was early April 1993 when I was told that a business trip had been scheduled for me in the near future. My job requires me to travel to a customer's location from time to time, so the trip wasn't a surprise. But this time was different--or at least I hoped it would be; for the first time in many, many years, I'd been sober for thirty days.
