I have been reading the Grapevine since I came into AA in September 1996, and it's taken me this long to sit down and write you a thank-you note. Many times, the Grapevine was there for me when I couldn't get anything but an answering machine or busy signal. The Grapevine was there at five A.M. when it was too early to call just to say I was feeling lonely or not right. The Grapevine fit in my back pocket or purse when I was going to an event in which I knew liquor would be served and I could steal away into a quiet corner and get some experience, strength, and hope.
