It appears that many members of AA are filled with alarm as to the present and future condition of our Fellowship. Perhaps this is a good thing in the sense that we must always be on guard concerning the preservation of our Traditions and history. Truths we live by have come to us from actual experience and teach us to avoid directions which result in failure. Keeping this in mind, my own belief is that there is no cause for alarm. Having been sober many years, I have formed certain opinions as to how AA has remained the same and how it has changed. It is upon these observations that I base my optimism.
