Desperately Seeking Solutions

When I was "out there," I always was looking for The Answer: the substance, the person, the place, the piece of information that would fix me, the one thing that would solve my problems and answer my questions. After sixteen years of sobriety, I realize that I now have found my answer, and it is very simple: one day at a time, I don't pick up a drink or a drug--no matter what I feel like, no matter what is happening in my life. That's it. (Oh, and going to meetings, praying, and talking to trusted advisors help a lot, too.)
