I just read the issue about diversity in our Fellowship. (May 2000) Wow! I really identified. I'm a gay man who got sober in a city with a variety of meetings, including meetings for gay people. But I didn't realize until I moved to rural New Hampshire how much they meant to me. When I was first getting sober and full of anger and fear, they provided safe places where I could listen to the word of recovery and feel accepted for who I am.
