A Tidal Wave of Loneliness

Despite the fact that, after thirty years of drinking, the physical effects were getting bad, loneliness was the worst symptom of my active alcoholism. I was prepared to put up with all the physical problems, but the loneliness drove me to the desperate measure of asking someone for help. (Thank God the person I asked was a member of this Fellowship). And loneliness followed me into sobriety for some years.
