I am an alcoholic who took about ten years to get three and a half years of sobriety. I always felt uncomfortable around AA because there were drugs in my history. I went to a drug and alcohol center. My counselor, who was about my age, asked me if I ever did a drug before I took a drink. I thought for about ten minutes, and said, "No. No! The only problem is that I am an alcoholic." Was I happy!
